About Our "Snail" GroupOUR ACTIVITIES
We adapt the activities and toys in our infant and toddler group specifically to the needs and developmental stages of the children. Our qualified staff focuses intensively on the specific developmental stages and milestones of this age group and plans appropriate activities. The children have the opportunity to experience their first social interactions with their peers. They can play together, observe and learn from each other. This promotes social development and helps infants develop basic social skills such as sharing, waiting, or first forms of communication. In our infant and toddler group, we place a special focus on the care and individual attention of the children.
eating and drinking
Another focus is on appropriate nutrition for infants and toddlers. We place great importance on maintaining the children’s usual eating rhythm. Mothers who wish to continue breastfeeding their infants have the option of dropping in during KiTa nano or bringing pumped breast milk. We also offer freshly prepared vegetable and fruit porridges. The meal rhythm is discussed together with the parents and reviewed regularly.
The transition from porridge to solid food takes place individually and in consultation with the parents. We also take into account special dietary needs such as allergies or illnesses. Our goal is to gently accustom the child to the meal rhythm of the KiTa nano and to give him the opportunity to eat independently. In the early stages, we support the children in eating with their hands as well, in order to give them their first sensory experiences with food.
Through these pedagogical approaches to group size, play, sleep and nutrition, we create a loving and nurturing environment in which infants and very young children can develop optimally.

Group size
The educationally valuable group size in infant and toddler care is a maximum of 6 or 8 children per day, depending on the location. This limited number allows us to ensure that each child receives the individual attention and care they need to develop optimally.
Sleep
An important aspect is the children’s sleep. In our infant group, we have a separate bedroom where each child can find a suitable place to sleep. There are several cribs, baby carriages and a hammock to meet the different needs. This allows us to create a calm and relaxed environment that allows the children to get the rest and sleep time they need.
